Nipper Rescue Certificate (NRC)
The Nipper Rescue Certificate is a water safety and rescue award for the provision of water safety for SLS Nipper Activities. It is designed to enable a large range of parents/guardians to be engaged by Clubs to formally assist in improving the delivery of Nipper water based activities and create potential pathways to lifesaving operations such as beach patrols or carnival water safety.
Note: this award does NOT allow you to become an active or long-service member of NCSLSC and is only used to enable you to act as a Nipper Water Safety member.
Prerequisites:
Minimum 18 years of age (on the day of final assessment)
Financial Parent member of the Surf Life Saving Club
Fees:
Free for NCSLSC Nipper Parent members

Assessment
Assessment is through demonstration, presentation and application of all elements of competency in the work-place.
To maintain currency members who hold a NRC will need to undergo an annual proficiency test incorporating a 200m Ocean Swim in 6 minutes, a tube recuse and demonstration of signals. This proficiency test will need to be recorded on SurfGuard as per other proficiency testing such as SRC and Bronze.
