New members are welcome to join throughout the season. As we reach the end of the season, we recommend you wait until 1 July to join for the next season.
For renewing members, renewal payments need to be completed by 1 November.

Absolutely - the primary contact/caregiver can create a ‘Family Group’ on the SLS Hub and manage their families memberships. Once logged in, select “I am a parent/guardian (18+) looking to sign up my child/family”.
If you have not previously created a family group, you may do so by selecting “Create Family Group” once on the “Family” page and then following the prompts to add individual members to your family group. If you have a family member joining for the first time (e.g. a new Nipper), you can chose ‘Add Member’ so a member account can be created before they can be added to your family group.

We would love to have you! To transfer from another club, login to your SLS Hub, click on ‘Memberships’ then ‘Organisations’ then ‘Join/Transfer to a New Organisation’ and complete the information. This will be reviewed and approved by both your current and new club. You will need to contact us to arrange payment prior to the transfer being finalised.

If you cannot login to your account, click ‘forgot Username or Password’ to reset your credentials. If you do not have an SLS Hub account, select the link provided on the login page to create an account.

Types of Membership
Active Surf Lifesaving Membership Categories
Active Senior (ages 18+)

Active 18 + members are full members over the age of 18. They enjoy full voting rights, can compete in SLSWA/SLSA competitions and have access to the gym, some equipment and training programs and coaching services for specific disciplines.

Members under this category must hold a current Bronze Medallion Award.
To achieve this they must firstly complete the bronze medallion course (see below) and attend a skills maintenance check yearly prior to 31 December.
Members must also attend rostered patrols during the season to meet the minimum patrol hour requirement of 16 patrol hours.

Cadet & Active Junior Lifesavers
(ages 13 - 18)

Youth members are aged between 14 and 18 years of age as at 30 September in the membership year.
Cadet (13-15 yrs)
Active Junior (15-18 yrs)
These members can compete in SLSWA/SLSA competitions and have access to the gym (members under 16 require supervision), some equipment and training programs and coaching services for specific disciplines.

Once a member turns 13 they must gain a Surf Rescue Certificate. After turning 15 members must gain or hold a Bronze Medallion Award.
After obtaining their award they must complete an annual proficiency check for their relevant award prior to 31 December each year.
Members must also attend rostered patrols and complete a minimum of 16 hours across the season.

Officials

Official members hold the SLSA Official qualification and are required to act as an official, referee or judge at an approved SLSWA/SLSA competition.
Members who hold official qualifications usually also hold a Bronze Medallion prior. Members wishing to transfer category to Official Membership should discuss this with the Club Office.

Hold an active official qualification and complete official duties at at least one SLSA/SLSWA Surf Sports Carnival.

2026/27 Annual fee: $125
Long Service

Long Service membership is awarded to members who have actively contributed to the club for a minimum of 10 years over and above their patrolling requirements. Long Service membership must be applied for by 30 April and the North Cottesloe SLSC Board of Management reviews each application individually. Long Service is awarded and announced at the AGM in June each year.

Long Service members are exempt from the requirement to patrol or obtain minimum hours, however, they must complete their Bronze Medallion annual proficiency check as well as the requirements of other awards held.
Long Service members may be called upon to patrol or render other service where deemed necessary by the Board of Management.

Other Memberships Types
Expatriates

Only existing Active Senior members of the Club can apply for Expatriate membership if they are living more than 200km from the Club for a period of not less than 12 months.
Expatriate members are not required to patrol or requalify their awards although they may only remain expat members while they are living outside of the allocated 200km radius from the Club.
An Expatriate Member will have the privilege of using the Club premises for a maximum total period of 4 weeks per calendar year, however, he/she will be not entitled to store equipment on Club premises

There are no requirements for this membership category other than payment of annual membership fees.
Members wishing to utilise their surf life saving skills or compete at SLS competitions will require a current award.
Membership for this category is by application to the Board of Management.

Associate Member
(Ages 40+)

Associate members are non-patrolling members aged 40 and above.
Associate members may use all Club facilities, including the gym, however do not have voting rights at AGMs or other relevant meetings.
Membership for this category is by application to the Board of Management.

Associate members must abide by the Club Constitution, By-Laws and Code of Conduct.
No patrolling or volunteering requirements exist, however new Associate members must gain a Working with Children check .

Life Membership

Life membership is the highest honour which can be granted to a member. Membership is usually granted to members who have demonstrated a contribution to the club over a considerable amount of time.
Nominations are made to the Club President and are assessed by the Life Membership Committee in line with requirements set out by the NCSLSC by-laws

Life Members are exempt from annual fees, as are their spouse. They are not required to patrol or complete annual proficiencies*, and continue to enjoy the benefits of club membership as for an active member.
*Life Members wishing to continue utilising their Surf Life Saving Skills or compete at Surf Carnivals must still complete their annual proficiency.

Ski-Rack Fees/Competition Costs and any other fees are still applicable to Life Members.
