The following code of conduct (Code) describes the behaviours the Club expects of its members, staff, officers, or guests consistent with the Club’s vision and values.

When the Code applies:

The Code applies whenever you are engaged in Club activities whether those activities are patrolling, competition, training, education, administration, socialising, or any other activity related to the Club.

Where the Code Applies:

The Code applies wherever you are engaged in Club Activities whether that be at the Club’s facilities, at another surf lifesaving club, in public or in private.

The Code

When you are engaged in Club Activities, wherever you are the Club expects that you will:

  1. Uphold the Club’s values of excellence, mateship, fun, good health, service and involvement.

  2. Act responsibly and professionally.

  3. Show respect to others whether they be people engaged in the Club Activities or other people in the area; especially our neighbours near the Club’s Marine Parade facility.

  4. Wear your uniform (patrolling or sporting) with pride and as an ambassador of the Club.

  5. Pay attention to and respect officials, coaches and referees.

  6. Win and lose with grace; always acknowledge and respect the ocean, your competitors and your teammates.

  7. Use alcohol legally and responsibly and absolutely avoid the consumption of illicit or illegal drugs and substances.

  8. Look out for others, especially children and other vulnerable members of our community;

  9. be a mentor and a leader; speak up for those who have no voice.

  10. Respect the land on which we are fortunate enough to occupy and use.
